In March 2009, Friends of Five Points mailed a survey to its residents to assess attitudes toward infill development. On 2 February 2010, FOFP presented a report of these findings to the Athens-Clarke County Mayor and Commission.

Residents need to have more voice in planning

The Banner-Herald's Sept. 2 editorial, "Neighborhood projects would betough calls," focusing on whether (and how) neighborhoods should have asay in how tax money is spent in their area, is the kind of publicdiscussion we need if we are to move toward giving residents andbusinesses more power over the future of their neighborhoods. That isthe thrust of many of the recommendations of the NeighborhoodNotification Initiative Citizens Committee, on which we served.
